Woman dead in Fremont Crash


A woman is dead after a collision between a semi and a car on Highway 77 south of Fremont today.... it happened just before 8 a.m. this morning (Tuesday), about a mile south of Fremont. College Funding Dispute Resolved


Nebraska's six community colleges are resolving their funding dispute, and Metropolitan Community College is dropping its lawsuit against the other colleges. State Sen. Greg Adams of York announced the agreement Tuesday afternoon. Veto overturned, Bills Advanced


Nebraska lawmakers have easily overturned Gov. Dave Heineman's first veto of the legislative session. 38 state senators voted to override Heineman's veto of a bill (LB867) that will increase to $1,000 the cost of licenses that liquor manufacturers must have to ship liquor into the state. Task Force Shuts Down Massive Marijuana Operation


 Five men are in jail, after members of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Drug Task Force seize three massive marijuana growing sites in a single operation across the city. Police Chief Tom Casady says search warrants were served at 5210 North 11th, 3260 Dudley and 2620 Norman Circle last weekend. 

Home invasion robbery on South 19th Street




While you were sleeping early Tuesday morning, three men from Omaha broke into an apartment at 623 South 19th Street. One man carried an AK-47 assault-style rifle. Council looking at change in dance ordinance


Lincoln's dance ordinances date back to the 1930s, prohibiting teens younger than 19 from attending dances in clubs and bars after 9pm. Next week, the City Council votes on changing the age of 18. If no alcohol is served, people 18 and older can attend an adult dance without supervision. Teens 16 and older are allowed in bars as long as there's no dancing.

Armon Dixon Found Guilty of Rape


Armon Dixon is guilty. The jury reached its verdict soon after closing arguments were made. On March 21st of last year, Dixon raped a Casey's convenience store clerk and robbed the store. He's also accused of raping another woman in her Lincoln apartment and holding her hostage for several hours on April 26th. That case will be heard in a different trial.

Man in jail for threatening wife's male friend




For allegedly threatening a man with a handgun, 32 year old Bryan Drew of Lincoln went to jail. Early Sunday morning, Drew came home to his house at 31st and "J" to find his wife there with a male friend. He allegedly pulled out a handgun and threatened the man.

Out of state tuition payments for student living in Lincoln


A UNL student wondered why he's paying out-of-state tuition, while illegal immigrants pay in-state tuition. Troy Weigand told University Regents he moved to Nebraska four years ago, owns a house in Lincoln and pays taxes, but still is classified as an out-of-state student and pays higher tuition. LES customers conserving energy




Saving energy ???...ask LES to help. About 63 residential customers have asked for $68,000 from the Sustainable Energy Program for heat pumps and sealing and insulation. Officials say 25 commercial and industrial customers have reserved $63,000 for installing energy savings measures. Around $240,000 of the program's $1- million in financial incentives have been reserved.
